For fourteen wonderful years since we opened café georgio, co-owners Grace Hopwood and George Ward have been welcoming patrons to our restaurant in Bethel Park, PA. We have celebrated hundreds of baptisms, birthdays and bar mitzvas, graduations, weddings, anniversaries and even a few engagements (with the ring hidden cleverly in the dessert). We have fixed the hems on prom gowns and held many babies.

George, Grace, and the entire café georgio staff thank you for inviting us into your lives.

The one constant over the years has been George. Along with Bernie Bereksazi, they keep the kitchen going. You've got to love being a cook: You either dive into it and live it and breathe it... or you don't. George and Bernie do. They get this energy that all great chefs have. They know their ingedients so well that they can be creative in a sophisticated yet simple way.

Grace still makes a lot of our desserts, works the "door," and helps on catering jobs. She does everything from busing tables to providing the ambience at café georgio: The paintings that decorate the restaurant (which are for sale) are hers.

A million thanks to our staff throughout the years and especially our current staff. We would not be here with out you. Jason and Deb have been with us from Day One.

We want to thank our children, Si and Hilary, who endured life growing up in a restaurant and turned out just great in spite of it. We have watched so many of your children grow up along with our own. What a trip!

And while we have had many reasons to celebrate, we have had far too many to mourn. We have survived the passing of some truly superior people and are that much better for having known them at all.
